Perspectives

The focus of our Comparative Literature programme lies on the academic study of the literatures of the world. You will learn further foreign languages and/or deepen your existing foreign language skills, enabling you to relate a broad spectrum of different-language literatures, cultures and media to each other.

The Master's programme in Comparative Literature not only offers a good basis for subsequently realising a doctoral project in Comparative Literature or in the participating subjects of literary and cultural studies. The skills in literary, culture and media studies also prepare students for a wide range of (especially internationally oriented) professions. These include, for example, the field of publishing and media, but also cultural management, adult education, public relations or work in international organisations.

For early professional orientation and practical integration, students can take advantage of the modular offer of the Master's programme in Comparative Literature as well as the events of the Career Service of the Faculty of Humanities.
